The job's done, tools are back in the truck, and the homeowner walks you to the door and just says it plainly — thank you — no qualifiers, no "for the price" tacked on the end, just a handshake and a look that means it. For one clean moment the whole circle closes: the early call, the traffic, the callback three weeks ago that led to this trust, all of it, worth it, right here.

Let this land as the whole point it actually is. Not every job ends this cleanly, so when it does, don't rush past it to the next one — you did honest work and someone noticed, and that's the entire world in miniature.

Four Stars. The Parking Cone.

The job was clean, on time, fairly priced, and the review that shows up that night is four stars, docked one full star because you left an orange cone in the driveway for ten minutes while you finished loading the truck. It stings out of proportion to what it actually is, because the rest of the story — the part that mattered — doesn't get mentioned at all.

Completion nitpicked down to a single flaw isn't really completion, and chasing a perfect score from someone who was never going to give you one is a fast way to lose the plot of the good work you actually did. Let the four stars be four stars.
